Google

2018

Austin, TX, USA

Opportunity

Google saw the opportunity to launch their new Google Assistant and showcase to potential buyers, what it did, and how it would add value to their lives.

Solution

A custom Fun House where you “Make Google Do it.” This was a complete takeover of a home that had 12 experiences within it. Guests could interact with every part of the house and make Google help them out. From an on-command beer delivery system, and music at voice command, guests saw the capabilities of Google in one unique location.

Activation Breakdown

  • Customizing a landmark Victorian-style home in Austin.

  • 12 experiences powered by Google assistant.

  • 9 lightning talks during SXSW.

  • Partnership with SXSW.

Results

  • Lightning talks had 353 attendees.

  • 1,340 guests at the house.

  • Increased understanding of the Google Assistant capabilities.

Takeaway

This activation was a great way to display the product’s capabilities. Instead of a sterile, showroom-type activation where the product is explained, this activation made viewers see it were and it would function- in the home. Guests could understand how it would enhance their lives and would be more willing to purchase. This activation is well thought out and on a grand scale, which makes a big statement that the product functions so well that it can power every aspect of an entire home. Additionally, it was fun, interactive, and really put an emphasis on guests to explore and have a great time utilizing the technology.
